G-VECTORING CONTROL PLUS

GVC Plus is Mazda’s human-centric engineering approach that makes vehicle movement more responsive, confident, and comfortable. When you enter a turn, GVC Plus temporarily reduces engine torque to transfer weight to the front wheels and enhance grip. As you exit the turn, torque is restored to shift weight to the rear for greater stability. Finally, a slight braking force is applied to the outer front wheel when you quickly return the steering wheel to the center position, helping to straighten the vehicle. This smooth activation and behind-the-scenes control greatly reduce the need for steering corrections, smooth out G-force effects to minimize body movement, and reduce stress and fatigue on long trips.

SKYACTIV-G 2.5L WITH CYLINDER DE-ACTIVATION

The SKYACTIV-G 2.5L in the CX-5 features a 2.5L gasoline Skyactiv engine that produces 190 horsepower and 252 Nm of torque. This engine includes cylinder deactivation technology designed to improve fuel efficiency by deactivating 2 of the 4 cylinders during light driving conditions. It automatically switches between 4-cylinder and 2-cylinder operation based on driving conditions, regardless of driver input. Cylinders one and four are deactivated during light driving, such as cruising at a constant speed.

Mi-Drive

Mazda introduces Mi-Drive to enhance Skyactiv-Vehicle Dynamics and GVC Plus. With a simple toggle switch, drivers can choose between Normal, Sport, and Off-Road modes to match their driving needs. Normal mode is great for daily driving on paved roads, Sport mode enhances acceleration and handling for winding roads and highways, and Off-Road mode provides control on rough terrain, steep inclines, and deep snow. The status of each mode is displayed clearly on the seven-inch TFT LCD display.

MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC)

Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) automatically adjusts and maintains a safe distance from the car ahead, reducing driver stress on long trips and highways. It uses millimeter-wave radar to measure the speed and distance relative to the car in front and automatically controls the vehicle’s speed.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM (LDWS)

This advanced system alerts the driver when a lane change is detected without the use of turn signals, prompting immediate steering corrections. LDWS recognizes lane markings on the road surface.

Lane keep Assist System (LAS)

This system works in conjunction with LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System), which assists the driver by automatically steering to maintain lane position if the vehicle detects departure from the lane markings on the road surface.

BLIND SPOT MONITORING AND REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT (BSM & RCTA)

BSM and RCTA use the same sensors to alert the driver when a vehicle is approaching from behind or in the blind spots on either side. RCTA is activated when the car is in reverse. Warnings are provided through a blinking indicator on the side mirrors and an audible alert.

CRUISING AND TRAFFIC SUPPORT (CTS)

CTS is a system that combines acceleration control and steering assist functions to reduce driver fatigue on highways. The system maintains a constant distance between your vehicle and the one ahead at a preset speed without the need to use the gas or brake pedals. Additionally, the steering assist function helps keep the vehicle within lane lines when detected. If lane lines are not detected, it helps the driver keep the vehicle aligned with the one ahead.
